On October 5-8, 2011, Barcelona will host the Second International Congress of Dual Disorders: Addictive Behaviors and other Mental Disorders, organized by the Spanish Society of Dual Disorders (SEPD) in collaboration with the World Psychiatric Association, The Spanish Ministry of Health and the Generalitat de Catalunya. The Congress will be chaired by Professor Miguel Casas, Head, Servei de Psiquiatria, Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. The First International Congress of Dual Disorders: Addictive Behaviors and other Mental Disorders was held in Madrid in 2008.
I was one of the speakers at the Madrid Congress, at the invitation of Dr. Enrique Baca-Garcia, one of the Congress organizers. It was a very interesting and thought-stimulating conference mostly dedicated to studies of comorbidity of substance use disorders with other psychiatric disorders.
The XV World Congress of Psychiatry, “World Psychiatry 2011: Our Heritage and Our Future” will be held in Buenos Aires in Fall, 2011. The Congress will be organized by the Argentinean Association of Psychiatrists (AAP), the Association of Argentinean Psychiatrists (APSA), and the Foundation for Interdisciplinary Investigation of Communication (FINTECO).
