Long COVID and suicide
Leo Sher, M.D.
A few days ago, Reuters published an article, “Long COVID’s link to suicide: scientists warn of hidden crisis” (1). The authors discuss a possible relation between long COVID and suicide which is an important and probably, underappreciated issue (1,2).
The authors report that globally, nearly 150 million people are estimated to have developed long COVID during the first two years of the pandemic and suggest that the implications of long COVID potentially being linked with increased risk of psychiatric disorders and suicide are serious.
This Reuters’ publication includes a part of an interview with me.
